When Mary, Abby and I used to hang out at my flat in Logan Square, usually at night, in the early Aughts, I would play DJ for them. This, the third, eponymous Velvet Underground album, was their favorite. Abby especially, felt that the songs (like Some Kinda Love) articulated something that she, herself, couldn't articulate. And the resultant buzz we got was mellow and intense at the same time.
